TxDMV offers an online Multi-Year Intrastate Fleet Registration Program for individuals or businesses with 12 or more intrastate (Texas-only) non-specialized plated vehicles. The program helps carriers keep registrations and inspections current while reducing annual paperwork.
Program Highlights
- Eligible fleets: At least 12 units that are not plated as apportioned, permit, forestry, exempt, or handicapped
- No maximum fleet size; companies may also maintain multiple fleets under one account
- Fleets may include mixed vehicle types such as cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles, trailers, token trailers, and combination power units
- All vehicles in a fleet share the same expiration date
- Registration period: Choose from 1 to 8 years
License Plate Options
- Plates are issued with the month and year of expiration printed, eliminating the need for annual stickers
- Registrants may select either:
- Standard license plates, or
- Custom logo license plates (company name and/or logo) - pre-approval by TxDMV required before registration
How to Apply
- Go to TxFLEET
- Click “Apply for Motor Carrier Account” to begin your application
Inspection and Registration
- Vehicles no longer receive inspection stickers. Your cab card or registration receipt serves as proof of inspection and registration.
- The Multi-Year Fleet program helps you stay on track by sending inspection reminders at 75 days and 45 days before your fleet is due.
- The online inspection maintenance autility allows you to check the inspection status of all fleet units at once, instead of one by one.
- Non-commercial vehicles will sync to the new expiration month you select.
- Commercial vehicles must remain inspected at all times, as required by FMCSA Part 396.17, and do not sync with the registration month.
- TxDMV collects the State’s portion of the inspection fee annually.
