Jeremiah Kuntz

jeremiah kuntzJeremiah Kuntz is the Director of the Vehicle Titles & Registration division for the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. He began working for the TxDMV in February, 2011 after having served as Governor Perry’s Transportation Policy advisor. His first position with TxDMV was as the Director of the Government and Strategic Communication, a division he helped to establish.

He has more than 18 years of public service with twelve years in state government policy and six years in the United States Marine Corps. He served as budget advisor to Senator Todd Staples and as the transportation analyst for the Senate Transportation and Homeland Security Committee. In his time working in the Senate he tackled complex issues like the budget shortfall of the 78th Legislative Session and finding new innovative ways to fund transportation.

After leaving the Senate, he worked for the Department of Transportation, serving as advisor to Commissioner Ted Houghton. There he assisted in negotiating high profile transportation contracts, developing policies for the commission, and served on the Derivatives and Swaps Advisory Committee.

Jeremiah attended Southwest Texas State University and earned a degree in Finance while serving in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. Shortly after graduating, he became a licensed personal financial advisor before returning to public service.

He lives in Austin with his wife Patricia and their sons Connor, Parker, and Alexander.
