Subject: Updated Title Package Report Assembly Procedures
These documents contain text of correspondence sent by TxDMV to the county tax assessor-collectors, statutory agents who provide vehicle registration and titling services for citizens in Texas. This information is provided to apprise the general public of issues affecting the state's vehicle titling and registration process.
To provide you with updated assembly procedures for the submission Title Package Reports. This RTB supersedes RTB #052-06, published August 16, 2006.
The attachment provides updated information regarding revised assembly procedures and provides clarification for proper submission of Title Package Reports. Following these procedures ensures efficient processing of incoming title transactions and allows TxDMV’s Title Control Systems Branch to operate more effectively. Significant changes include:
- Special Handling Envelopes are now known as Specially Marked Envelopes
- Submission of Bond Transactions in a Specially Marked Envelope is no longer required
- Vehicle Transfer Notifications and Hot Check Redemptions should not be included with incoming Title Package Reports
- Transactions involving switched ownership evidence and title transactions including Form VTR-852, ASE Safety Inspection and Application for Custom Vehicle or Street Rod License Plates, should be included in the Special Handling Envelope
