Motor Carrier Division Permit Office Holiday Closures

The normal hours of operation for the Motor Carrier Division Austin Permits Office are 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday. REMINDER: The toll-free phone line shuts down 15 minutes prior to the end of office hours each day. Phone hours are 6 a.m. - 5:45 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturdays. Our offices are closed on the following holidays:

General Permit Restrictions

The movement of loads exceeding 14 feet in width, or 16 feet in height, or 110 feet in length, is suspended during select holidays unless TxDOT grants an exception.

Super Heavy Movement

The movement of super heavy loads is suspended during select holidays. Exceptions can be granted on a case by case basis by MCD Permit Section.
