Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Board

We’re pleased to introduce you to the members of the new Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Board.

The nine-member board is appointed by the governor, who also designates one board member to serve as chairman. The board selects one of its members to serve as vice chairman. By law, board members must include:

• 1 county tax assessor-collector
• 2 franchised auto dealers
• 1 independent auto dealer
• 1 representative from the vehicle manufacturing or distribution industry
• 1 representative from the motor carrier industry
• 1 county or city law enforcement representative
• 2 customer (public) representatives
