Automobile Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority Director
Charles Caldwell
is director of the Texas Automobile Burglary and
Theft Prevention Authority Office.
Caldwell has been with ABTPA for the past 13 years where he has
served as a Grant Administrator. He is certified by the National
Grant Writers Association as a Certified Grants Specialist and
Evaluator. During his tenure with ABTPA, Caldwell has assisted
numerous law enforcement agencies and local governments across the
state in their efforts to combat automobile theft and burglary.
Caldwell has 24 years experience in state government. He began
his career in 1983, with the Texas Treasury Department. In 1993, he
moved to the Governors Office and was responsible for accounting and
budget reconciliations. In 1995, he joined the Texas Board of
Chiropractic Examiners where he served as that agency's Chief
Financial Officer. He came to Texas Automobile Burglary and Theft
Prevention Authority in September 1996 and served as the Authority's
financial officer.
Caldwell is a graduate of Concordia University with a bachelor's
degree in business administration.
He and his wife, Carolyn, have two children and live in Cedar Park.
